Never mind the iPhone XS Max, take a look at the redesigned Apple Watch Series 4. Refining the original, this fourth-generation connected timepiece has a 30 per cent larger display integrated into a thinner, more elegant case.
Available in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm, it boasts some subtle tweaks. The microphone has been relocated for better sound quality, the back is black ceramic and sapphire crystal, and the Digital Crown now includes haptic feedback, for a more responsive feel. Inside is an S4 chip with a custom 64-bit dual-core processor, said to be twice as fast as its predecessor.
The larger display not only looks prettier, it allows app icons and fonts to be bigger and easier to read. To take advantage of this Apple offers a new set of watch faces. A suite of motion faces, including Vapor, Liquid Metal, Fire and Water cleverly react with the curved edges of the case.
There’s a choice of three aluminium finishes anodised in silver, gold and space grey; a gold stainless steel with matching Milanese band joins the silver and space black stainless steel models.
The Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS) starts at £399, and Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS + mobile) starts at £499.
