The Sensia Arena shower toilet is shaping up to be Grohe’s most aclaimed product, with fourteen awards to date, the latest of which was the prestigious Red Dot Award. These accolades pay testament to Grohe’s thoughtful design innovations which have helped advance personal care and digitalise the bathroom experience for the better.
What makes Sensia Arena an award-winning feat of design and technology? Michael Seum, VP Design for Grophe explains: “The most striking visual aspect of Sensia Arena is its modern and elegant design. This was created by the Grophe in-house Design Studio which has been recognised with a range of coveted prizes, such as the iF Design Award, the Interior Innovation Award, the Plus X Award and the Green Good Design Award. It’s streamlined, gentle and stylish shape blends in seamlessly with any contemporary bathroom design. No design feature has been left unexplored, as can be seen in the finer details such as the discreet night light, which guides users through a dark bathroom, and the automatic open and close lid feature.”
The Sensia Arena is all about the user experience. The combination of fresh warm water for skin cleansing and delicate air for careful drying leaves users feeling clean and refreshed every time. You can also create your own personalised cleansing routine, including choosing the water pressure and position of the shower arm, preferred temperature, spray pattern and cleansing cycle. The individual settings can be controlled intuitively using either the remote control or the panel mounted on the side of the seat. In addition, an app can be downloaded to allow users to store all favourite settings.
The toilet’s self-cleaning features also offer superior hygiene. Rimless flushing technology means there are no corners and crevices for germs to settle in and the AquaCeramic glazing has such an exceptionally smooth finish that dirt cannot stick to. On top of this, the innovative HyperClean surface uses silver ions to prevent 99% of bacteria growth.
Toilet odours also are banished from the bathroom thanks to Sensia Arena’s innovative odour absorption, which works in combination with an Airshield to eliminate unpleasant smells in the bathroom.
Once thought of as a niche luxury, shower toilets are becoming an increasingly popular choice in bathrooms. According to a You-gov survey commissioned by Grohe, over one third (37 per cent) of Brits would be likely to buy a shower toilet if the price was right. What originated as a Japanese cleansing ritual, using water instead of paper to clean, continues to show steady growth worldwide. Sensia Arena, the innovative system from Grophe, is designed to bring a whole new dimension to personal care through gentle and smart cleansing.
