According to Houzz, quartz worktops are on the rise in UK homes. The recently published Houzz 2018 Kitchen Report, which surveyed almost 5,000 UK homeowners, reveals: “Engineered quartz has increased in popularity as the leading worktop material and is most often chosen by homeowners between the ages of 35 and 54.”
The report also revealed that quartz now tops the list of the most popular worktop materials homeowners are opting for, beating other well-known and ‘safe’ options that have been commonplace in the UK for many years. Engineered-quartz currently leads with a staggering 28 per cent of improvements projects surveys by Houzz citing it as the material used. It is followed by granite (18 per cent) and laminate (18 per cent).
Jonathan Stanley from Caesarstone UK says: “With all the benefits and beauty of natural stone, but none of the drawbacks, it’s clear to see why quartz is winning the hearts of homeowners looking for both a design statement and a return on investment in their kitchens. And whilst there is still some way to go in the UK market (currently quartz accounts for less than 10 per cent of worktop sales) this report shows that the awareness and use of quartz is on the rise in UK kitchens. As more homeowners and designers come to understand the beauty, design versatility, colour options, choice of finishes and the many practical features quartz offers, we expect it to grow as it has in other market and ultimately become the number one choice for UK consumers, designers and architects seeking a premium surface”
Caesarstone (picture above) is known for colour choice and on-trend surfaces; from the beautifully veined marble finishes to the modern concrete series which perfectly emulates the patinas and textures of industrially-poured concrete.
